Website Update and Business Cards

At first I was going to update what I had already made for my website in second year. However, upon looking at it a year later, I found it embarrassingly unprofessional looking and therefore the start a new one from the beginning using new work and basing it on the images I have made for this project, which is good because it is also my most recent work.

Old Hompage

This is incredibly crowded and has far too much going on, nothing is clear and the background is taking the attention away from the work.

Instead I decided to simplify it and only have one image (my logo), what I do and the buttons to the other page.

Old Animation portfolio

Again, my second showreel was embarrassing to look back at, I have completely changed it this year. 

The song for last year was far too upbeat for the work I was creating and looked very amateur. Again, the background is incredibly distracting.

This time I wanted the background to compliment the showreel, parts of my work sinks perfectly against the dark background. I have introduced a bit of colour, but only the colours which are also in my showreel, so they all compliment each other.

I used the last part of Something Wicked for my showreel this year and I felt it was fitting as that is what the new animations I made for the showreel was animated to this song.

The main change for this page was the interactive pictures which enlarge when you hover over them and a couple of work updates.

The problem here again is that my old about me page was very unprofessional and didn't fit the image of the work I was trying to create or how I am currently trying to market myself. It is so much more important now, as a freelance animator it's important to present yourself as part of your work and market yourself accordingly. I also connected my instagram account to this page as it allows the viewer to see more of what I do with my personal time, and therefore getting a better understanding of what I do and who I am.
