Basic Animation Tests and Concept

Before my first meeting with the band,  I wanted to create some concept images based on picture that were taken at the gig I had seen. It would have been difficult to describe exactly what I meant to the client as they obviously do not study animation, therefore the word 'rotoscope' went completely over their heads.
These images were made with the intention to allow them to get get idea of the kind of work they could expect from me and also meant that I could notes and feedback from the client so I would create something to their specifications.

I made one image and tried editing it in different ways and using different colours so the client could pick which ones they thought would suit their image. I also experimented with which colours worked well together to create a stronger image.

I tried some images in black and white so they could have an understanding of the what parts before the chorus would look like.

I also made some basic backgrounds that I could animate for certain parts of the piece if the client likes the idea.

I really like the yellow and pink in this image above.

I then did some very basic animation tests to the song so they could get an idea of editing and how these images could work with the music.
